Does it really matter what you wash your face with? I mean, it’s not on your face for very long, so why not use a cheap drugstore brand that’s on sale? Low pH values for your cleansers are actually very important. If the pH level is too high, it can strip your skin of moisture and you will end up with that tight squeaky feeling. If the pH level of your cleanser is too low, you will end up with a cleanser that will not clean well enough. For best results, get a cleanser with a pH lower than pH 7. Read on to see what my top 3 picks for a low p-H cleanser are.
COSRX LOW PH GOOD MORNING GEL CLEANSER
The Cosrx Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser was one of the first K-beauty face washes I ever used. I tend to go back to this facewash when I am having a bad breakout. Why? the main active ingredient in the Cosrx Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser is tea tree oil, which is a very effective ingredient for anti-acne skincare products. This cleanser helps get my breakouts under control without drying my skin. The Cosrx Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser is a cleanser I have purchased many times over and given it as a gift!
ONEOSEVEN LOW PH CHAGA CLEANSER
The newest of the bunch, the Oneoseven Low PH Chaga Cleanser was introduced this year and I was already a fan of the brand. The gel cleanser has a clear, light brown color and had a mildly citrusy/medicinal scent that is very pleasant. The main ingredient that helps with elasticity and moisture is the Chaga mushroom. As always, anything from Oneoseven has aged vinegar ferment as an ingredient as well.
COSRX LOW PH FIRST CLEANSING MILK
The Cosrx Low pH First Cleansing Milk was the first cleansing milk I tried and still my favorite. A mild gel cleanser, the Cosrx Low pH First Cleansing Milk has a faint citrus scent that comes off as clean, and barely noticeable. The cleansing milk is a looser type of cleanser, the texture of a thin, smooth gel. The main ingredients in this cleanser are witch hazel, allantoin and papain enzyme. The witch hazel and allantoin help to soothe irritated skin and the papain enzyme helps your skin become a smoother texture.
These are not the only low pH cleansers on the market. The fun part of skincare is doing some exploration and discovering new gems. So start the new year off right, and try out a new low pH cleanser!
